Genre                               Adult Paranormal Romance

Book Seven of the bestselling Fallen Immortals series

**START with KISS OF A DRAGON (Book 1)**

I am a Dragon Prince of the House of Smoke… and I am in love with the wrong woman.

I never meant to fall for an angeling. And I wasn’t supposed to have the duty of fulfilling a ten-thousand-year-old treaty to protect humanity. But now I’m trapped between the immutable facts of magic and the irresistible force of my love. When a fae queen offers unparalleled sex and an unprecedented renewal of the treaty, the temptation is substantial. If only the prospect didn’t leave me hollow inside…

I am Protector class, Chastity faction—an angeling whose sworn duty and greatest joy is protecting humanity. The House of Smoke is likewise a guardian, and their prince is one of my oldest friends. Any angeling worth her wings would struggle with the Sin of Envy to take my place. But they know not of Leksander’s stubbornness in refusing his duty to mate and produce a dragonling. How hard can it be to win a human’s heart? I would give my life if it would help. All depends upon this…

He must win her heart or finally let her go. Her vow of Chastity means she’s never known love. Either they’ll save the mortal and immortal worlds with a Love that is True… or they’ll bring a Fall like the world has never seen.

The House of Smokes has arrived at its last hurdle to fulfil the prophecy. The last unmated prince has to find true love to avoid the looming disaster. It's easier said than done!

Leksander has been in love with an angeling ever since they first met eons ago. His love was doomed from the start and now that he has to fulfil his part of the prophecy, his primary duty is to find a mate.

Erelah is an angeling who has never known love. Leksander is one of her only two friends. She has this intense love for humanity and knowing that their future lies with Leksander, she will give anything to make it happen. Except for her love. She is sworn to chastity.

This instalment of the series is totally different from the previous ones. Leksander has always been diligent when it comes to his brothers' welfare and the prophecy. He knows that gaining Erelah's true love is near impossible but he is convinced that there must be a way. It turns out that he knows very little about her, even after being her best friend for so long. So much about her are mysteries to him. He is about to find out though.

Unlike, with the heroines in the previous episodes, it took me a while to be able to connect to Erelah. She is of a complex but pure and innocent nature. The angeling regimes are rather harsh and she is conflicted by her feelings and her duties. The whole story is a sad state of affairs. The cliffhanger at the end raises more than one question and it will be interesting to see how the story unfolds.

I have been a fan of this series from the beginning and now that the angels are more involved, I am even more intrigued.

I received a complimentary eARC from the author and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

Erik Bertinelli is the son of the vilest mob boss in all of New York’s underbelly. He’s the enforcer, the hitman for the syndicate, and the type of guy who doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty. His hideaway is as unconventional as they come… the New York Public Library.

With a thirst for knowledge and a grand getaway at his fingertips, he loses himself daily in the dusty tales of old. Life is too f*cked up most days of the week. Peace would be beyond welcomed.

Grace Adams desires more than anything to live fully alive, and yet, she’s doing just the opposite of that. She’s a librarian at the New York Public Library and spends her days wishing like hell that she could disappear into one of the romance novels she reads.

With an imagination that would shock her family and friends, she keeps to herself and lives in the colorful parts of her mind – alone. Untapped.

When the same deliciously dangerous alpha male keeps showing up between the bookshelves, her daydreams quickly dive into passion that feels too good to be true. The kind that could burn anyone involved. The kind she would do anything for. Maybe even kill…

“It’s finally starting to get cold.” Thomas glanced over at me and smiled as we jogged side by side. His freckles were fading now that summer was gone, but a faint splattering of them was still there.

“This isn’t cold.” I snorted and reached up to tug at my ponytail as we ran past the University. The library rose up in the distance, and I felt a sense of belonging. I’d been working there for a while, and even though I had some difficulty with some of the staff, most of the people there liked me. And it was where I could find Erik.

“Hey. Did I lose you?” My brother reached over and tugged on my sleeve.

“Oh yeah, sorry. There’s this new guy at the library, and I think I’m going to ask him out.” I turned the corner and slowed for a minute as my lungs screamed for air.

“A new guy, hm?” He didn’t look too thrilled. “I don’t like it.”

“You’re my older brother, dimwit.” I stopped by a cement bench and dropped down to fix one of my tennis shoes.

“You’re not supposed to like it.”

“When do I get to meet him?” Thomas ran in place as he scanned the lawn in front of us. His smile widened as he lifted his hand and waved. “Kara. Nancy. Hey girls. Looking good.”

“Oh brother.” I stood up and reached up to adjust my hair again as I turned to see who he was waving at. Cheerleaders. Had to be. Their shorts looked more like panties, and they were wearing sports bras. “There should be a dress code out here. That’s just offensive.”

He laughed. “Just because you dress like a Granny doesn’t mean you have the right to be ugly about other girls dressing their age.”

“Oh yeah?” I lifted my eyebrow and ran my hands down my long-sleeve t-shirt. “And you’d be okay with me wearing what they have on?”

“What?” His brow pulled tight. “Hell no. That’s not happening.”

“Right.” I rolled my eyes and started to jog away from him. “What did you want to talk about that we couldn’t talk at home where it was warm and cozy?”

“Mom and Dad were there, Grace.”

“You could have come by my apartment.” I glanced over at him, noticing the dark circles under his eyes now that I was really looking. He’d been a little on edge lately, but he was nearing his last senior semester at NYU. I assumed it had everything to do with that. What other stress could he have in his life? He was president of the largest fraternity on campus and everyone worshiped the ground he walked on.

Everyone but Jenna. I forced myself not to chuckle. My poor brother had been after my best friend for years, and Jenna was oblivious to it. Now he was too late. She was dating a hottie bad boy from the coffee shop where she worked.

“I hate going to your apartment.” He shook his head. “It’s embarrassing enough getting caught in a movie that has a sex scene with your little sister, but to go to her apartment and hear the perverts next door bonking every fifteen minutes is sick. No fucking way. Count me out.”

“They’re in love, Thomas. It’s cute.”

“Fucking all the time is cute?” He lifted his hand as he paled a little. “You know what? Don’t answer that. We’re good just talking out here.”

“Alright. Spill then.” I laughed as he gave me a ‘watch it’ look. My brother was a bit of a prude from what I knew, but we never really talked too much about our love lives. That was gross.

Love life. What a fucking joke. I’d never been tongue kissed by a guy, much less anything else. After my mother had Thomas when she was sixteen, she used a scare tactic to keep me a virgin, and it worked well.
I’d never been around anyone that left me wanting to defy her and my father and spread my legs anyways. Not until Erik Bertinelli. The thought of him left my heart racing, my body tightening. The things I wanted him to do to me were over the top, horrible, embarrassing.

Author Bio

Romance is a genre that is oftentimes written by women, but my novels give you the chance to see through the eyes of some of the men that perhaps you fantasize about, and the opportunity to read about passion from the other side for a change. Stories told about real relationships, legit problems and past experiences… unless you’re an ex, in which case any resemblance to women living or dead is merely a coincidence. ;)

My name is Weston. I’m a full time firefighter during the day, but I’m not here to put out any fires. I’m here to start them. Hope you enjoy my stories and feel free to reach out at any time. I love to flirt.

From the award-winning author of TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT comes the final story in her red-hot Rock Star Romance series, about a loner rocker finding his perfect duet.

5 Stars

More Than a Feeling portrays someone who goes from being a pauper to a famous rock star.

Cooper's childhood is far from being normal. His determination drove him to make something of himself by leaving his hometown, never to return. He is now the lead guitarist of a prominent band.

Daisy is working in partnership with some of the locals to raise funds for a resort which would benefit the community. The preparations are going well until one of the participants lets her down.

Despite his vow to never return to his hometown, Cooper returns after a phone call for some urgent news that her mother is about to disclose. He is on break from a tour and intends to stay for just a couple of days. He bumps into Daisy who was in his music class and now that they both have a problem, they start to work together. This will be beneficial to both of them.

Cooper has been crushing on Daisy for as long as he can remember but his way of life at the time made her off limits. To his surprise, he discovers that she has been carrying the same crush. There has always been this connection between them but a long term relationship won't work as neither of them will leave their current situation.

When Cooper's mother gives him the news, he is surprised and has so many mix feelings that he is at a loss. Daisy proves to be a tower of strength. She has her own problems but makes time to help everyone in need. During their time together, their feelings get stronger but can they indulge as they both know that it can only last for so long?

This novel is very deep. There is one surprise after another. The love and heartaches are palpable. Cooper is a loving and lovable character, proving that the past can be overcome. Daisy is strong and determined. She has a knack of putting things in perspective for the benefit of others. Family values are very much in the fore front. It's an emotive love story which I will quite happily read again.

I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

As they stood so close in the shadows of the covered porch, the connection between them alive and vibrant, Cooper realized his desire for her had changed. His attraction wasn’t that of a kid with a painful, unrelenting crush. He was a man who wanted things from her he didn’t have time to explore. “I should go. Thank you for everything. Today…tonight…” He shrugged.

“I’m glad I could be there for you.”

He should go, but the potent energy between them kept his boots rooted. “Are you dating anybody?” He had no business asking, and yet he waited for her answer with as much anticipation as finding out his paternity.

“No. I mean, it’s Snowberry. The dating pool’s not that big. And if you break up, you’re stuck in each other’s faces the rest of your lives. I had two boyfriends in college, and I dated a little when I took my first job in Blue Sky, but going out with tourists grew old quickly. What was the point?” She looked away. “I think I’m just at an age where I’m not going to waste my time hanging out with someone who doesn’t excite me.” And then she let out a shaky breath. “If it doesn’t feel like this” –she wagged a finger between them—“then why bother?”

A fireball of heat rocketed through him. His heart thundered. He stepped closer and cupped her elbows. “What exactly does this feel like?” He shouldn’t have asked. Because as surprising as it was to learn about her interest in him as a kid, it didn’t have the same impact as feeling her body heat up, watching her lips part, and her lids lower.

“It feels…” Her tone held a hint of whimsy. “Inevitable.”
When her fingertips touched his chest, electricity raced across his skin. His rational mind blurred, as he leaned into her, his mouth drawn inexorably to hers. Her raspberry-pink lips, close enough to kiss, elicited a fierce pang of desire that struck so deep and wide his heart ached.

“Cooper.” She reached up and cupped the back of his neck, and with a tug she bridged the distance, joining their mouths. Just the barest contact sent a shiver of the sweetest, most perfect burn down his spine.
He’d never wanted any woman the way he wanted Daisy Charbonneau. And when her fingers gripped the hair at the back of his neck he had to have her.

The moment he closed his mouth over hers, she leaned into him, holding him in place as though she feared he’d stop.

But he couldn’t. And when he licked into her mouth, their tongues touching, lust punched him. He went completely, painfully hard.

Daisy. This is Daisy. Her scent enveloped him, and her hair feathered over his arms, his hands. Like everything else she did, she threw her whole self into the kiss, and when she shifted closer, pressing her curvaceous body against his, he thought he’d go up in flames. His palms spread wide on her back, needing to touch every inch of her at once. With firm pressure, he slid them down—slowly, so he could feel the rise of her ass. When he had her cheeks in his hands, he couldn’t resist giving them a lusty squeeze. She moaned. Jesus, Daisy moaned, her body melting into his.

A bark of laughter from the path ripped them apart. He took a step back. The cool of the evening air snapped reason back into him. “Sorry.”

Her fingertips touched her mouth, and she looked disoriented.

“I’ll, uh, I’ll let you go.” He turned and jumped off the two stairs of her porch. But with each step he took away from her, the more frantic he became. Because this was it. He’d leave in the morning, and he wouldn’t see her again. He stopped at the end of the walkway and found her stepping into the warm yellow light of her house.

She leaned against the frame, her hand resting on it like it had on his chest.

Haloed in the warm light she looked soft and round and so damn beautiful. He would never forget the way she’d moaned in his arms. “Goodnight.”

She nodded, pushed off the frame, and disappeared inside her home.

One of Us is Lying - Karen M McManus

Author                              Karen M McManus
Publication Date             30 May 2017
Genre                                YA Mystery
                                           Thriller Romance

One of Us Is Lying is the story of what happens when five strangers walk into detention and only four walk out alive. Everyone is a suspect, and everyone has something to hide.
Pay close attention and you might solve this.

On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention.

Bronwyn, the brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule.

Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess.

Nate, the criminal, is already on probation for dealing.

Cooper, the athlete, is the all-star baseball pitcher.

And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High’s notorious gossip app.
Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention Simon's dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn’t an accident. On Monday, he died. But on Tuesday, he’d planned to post juicy reveals about all four of his high-profile classmates, which makes all four of them suspects in his murder. Or are they the perfect patsies for a killer who’s still on the loose?
Everyone has secrets, right? What really matters is how far you would go to protect them.

Wow! This happens to be one of the best mystery novel that I have read in a while. The plot, the characters, the pace and the quality of writing are exceptional.

Five students have to do detention for the same offense!

Simon is the school gossip who runs an app where he posts some disturbing material. Many have suffered at his hands.

Addy is the popular girl with the perfect boyfriend.

Bronwyn is the perfect student, heading for Yale.

Nate is the bad boy with a criminal record.

Cooper is the star baseball player, admired by all.

A diverse group with one thing in common. Secrets. They each have a secret which would tarnish their reputation if it ever comes out. Simon goes into an anaphaltic shock and dies. Is it an accident or murder? Of course everyone in the group is a suspect. The police and the press goes to town about the Bayview High "four"! More gossips appear on the social media to make everyone look even more guilty. The other thing is that, this is where they find out who their true friends really are. This unlikely group form their own circle where they can analyse the sequence of events. As the story unfolds, it becomes apparent that the police is convinced that it has to be one of them. Especially when their secrets are revealed. The surprises, twists and turns keep materialising.

This novel kept me on my toes all the way through. I like the relationship between the pair of sisters. The blossoming romance is rather sweet. The unravelling of the mysteries is intriguing and riveting. The big reveal is extremely well orchestrated and brings the story to a terrific climax.

I received a complimentary eARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
